Bio

LaTaaka Harvey is a native of Stuttgart, AR. She attended the University of Central Arkansas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science (FACS). LaTaaka later received a Master of Science in Leadership from the Colangelo College of Business at Grand Canyon University and a second Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has been known to be dedicated to the betterment of people and communities mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. LaTaaka has countless hours of educational, non profit management, and community service over the past 20 plus years. She is the Founder/Director of COPY (Community Outreach Programs for our Youth), a non-profit organization which focuses on programs for youth and families across Arkansas and surrounding states. LaTaaka is a public speaker, speaking to youth, parents, community leaders, educators, city officials, pastors, and civic groups statewide through individual sessions, assemblies, schools, trainings, and conferences. Dedicated to the service of others, especially the youth, LaTaaka served as an Americorps volunteer, Program Coordinator for Arkansas County Healthy Families Arkansas THRIVE, and an abstinence teacher for Youth Empowerment to Succeed (YES). She served as a representative for Zone 2 on the Stuttgart School Board and was recognized by ASBA as a Master Board Member. She currently serves on the Arkansas Safe Schools Association Board as a board member. LaTaaka has also had the privilege of working for the U of A Division of Agriculture Research and Extension as a FACS County Agent, UAMS as a Healthcare Recruiter, and the U of A Phillips Community College-Stuttgart Campus as a Career Coach. She has numerous volunteer hours within her congregation, school districts, Stuttgart community, and other communities. She is the mother of one biological child but mothers many students in various school districts and communities. LaTaaka received the Resource Center for Aging, “Community Volunteer” Award and "Community Service" Award from Stuttgart Celebrating Culture Committee, and is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, INC. She believes that “NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE to ACHIEVE if you continue to STRIVE to be a person of GREAT FAITH rather than fame.”
